Cards and the Artwork

The Seasons of the Witch: Imbolc Oracle deck consists of 44 cards. The cards have a standard size of approximately 9 x 12.5 cm (3.5 x 5 inches). This is consistent with the other decks in this series. You can easily create your own custom deck by combining cards from different sets if you wish to do so. As is customary to this series, the card edges are gilt—this time with blue, which suits Imbolc well. The paper quality feels good, and the finish is semi-gloss, making it easy for the cards to shuffle.

The artwork on these cards emanates a soothing aura that wraps you with a warm sensation. You can picture yourself sitting in front of a cosy fireplace while reflecting on your life and eating a cinnamon roll. However, you can see the coldness of an early spring night that waits outside the window. This deck of cards is designed to help you confront the darkness within and rediscover the light that spring promises. With the cards, you can create a sacred space for healing and growth.

The cards have full-sized images that cover the entire card. Each card is named, and the name is placed on top of the picture. Moreover, each card has a short yet insightful passage that imparts Imbolc-related wisdom. Each card is numbered and can be located easily in the accompanying guidebook.

The Guidebook of the Seasons of the Witch: Imbolc Oracle

The guidebook for the Seasons of the Witch: Imbolc Oracle deck has all the information you need to use this deck. It is just the right size, with 137 pages that match the size of the cards perfectly. Even though it’s pretty small, the book is easy to read. The main reason for this is that the paper quality is excellent.

The guidebook starts with a short but informative introduction to Imbolc, which sets the tone for the rest of the book. Next, it explains how to use the cards during and after Imbolc, which is very helpful for beginners. The “how to use after Imbolc” section was a good addition, especially because it prevents the deck from only being usable for a few weeks each year. Additionally, the guidebook includes some Tarot-inspired oracle spreads for self-reflecting, which is a great way to practice with the deck.

The last and, at the same time, the main part of the guidebook contains information about each card. The information includes a picture, keywords, and text to help you understand the meaning of the card. This section is very comprehensive and provides a lot of insight into each card, making it easy to use the deck for readings.

Conclusion

Imbolc is a perfect time for self-reflection and introspection. And what better way to do that than with the help of Oracle cards? If you don’t already have a deck, I would recommend trying out the Seasons of the Witch: Imbolc oracle deck. Its beautiful and cosy imagery will give you a warm and inviting feeling, which is just what you need during the cold, dark days of winter as the light begins to slowly return.
