I want everyone to be able to use this site, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard, magnification or other assistive technology.
My goal
I aim for the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. That means, for example, enough color contrast, text alternatives for images, headings in a logical order, visible focus, forms with labels and pages that work with a keyboard alone.
How I test
Every page template is checked with automated accessibility tests (axe) and Lighthouse before it goes live, and the tests run again whenever the site changes. I also check keyboard use myself. Automated tests cannot find every problem, so your feedback matters.
Known issues
No known issues at the time of writing. If I find one, I will list it here with a plan to fix it.
Tips for using the site
You can make text bigger with your browser’s zoom (Ctrl and plus, or Command and plus on a Mac) without breaking the layout. Most browsers also offer a reader view that shows only the text of a page. The site works without animations if your device is set to reduce motion, and the School keeps working offline for lessons you have already opened.
Report a barrier
If something does not work for you, please email me at lauri.esotericwitch@gmail.com. Tell me which page it was and what happened, and I will reply within 14 days. If you need content from a page in another format, ask and I will do my best to help.
Legal background
This statement is voluntary. The Finnish Act on the Provision of Digital Services (306/2019) applies to the public sector, and the European Accessibility Act exempts microenterprises that provide services, so neither requires this site to publish a statement. I publish one because I want to be honest about where the site stands.
