These guidelines apply when you comment on a course or lesson in my School. By creating an account you agree to them and to my terms. How I handle your data is in my privacy policy.
Who can comment
You need a free account to comment, and you must be 16 or older. Anyone can read published comments, signed in or not. Your display name is shown next to everything you post, so do not use your full legal name if you do not want it to be public.
What belongs here
I want the comments to be a calm, kind place to learn. Please:
- Ask questions about the lesson, share what you noticed in your own practice, or tell me what was unclear.
- Be kind to other readers, whatever their path, tradition or level.
- Keep to the topic of the course or lesson.
- Write in English or Finnish.
What I remove
I remove comments that:
- attack, harass, threaten or mock a person or group, or contain hate speech;
- share someone else’s personal details, or private messages without consent;
- advertise, sell, recruit or link to paid services, including paid readings;
- offer medical, psychological, legal or financial advice, or tell anyone to stop treatment;
- promise outcomes, curses or spells against other people;
- contain sexual content, graphic violence or anything unlawful;
- copy long passages of someone else’s work;
- are spam, repeated posts, or written by a bot.
A comment can hold at most two links. I may remove links I think are unsafe.
How I moderate
I am one person, so I read comments when I can. Comments are published right away and I check them afterwards. When I act on a comment, I can:
- hide it, so only you and I can see it (I keep a hidden comment for 6 months so you can appeal, then I delete it);
- delete it;
- stop your account from posting new comments (a posting ban), for a set time or until I lift it.
I do not use automated moderation. Every decision is mine. When I hide or delete a comment or ban an account, I write down the reason. You can see the reason for a hidden comment under My comments in your account. If you want the full statement of reasons, email me and I will send it.
Only I can reply to comments, and only directly under the comment I answer. My replies show as Lauri with an Author badge.
Reporting a comment
Every comment has a Report button. If you are signed in, the report comes straight to me. If you are not signed in, the button opens an email to me with a link to the comment.
If you think a comment is illegal content under EU or Finnish law, say so in the report and tell me why. Please include the link to the comment, your explanation and, if you can, your name and email. Email notices go to lauri.esotericwitch@gmail.com. I confirm that I received an emailed notice, look at it as soon as I can, and tell you what I decided.
Appeals
If I hid or deleted your comment or banned your account and you think I was wrong, email me at lauri.esotericwitch@gmail.com within six months. Tell me which comment or account it is about and why you disagree. I will look at it again and answer you. If you are still not satisfied, you can turn to a certified out-of-court dispute settlement body under the EU Digital Services Act, or to a court.
Your own comments
You can delete your own comments at any time under My comments. You cannot edit a comment after posting, so read it once before you send it. If you delete your account, all your comments, and my replies to them, are deleted with it.
Changes
If I change these guidelines in a way that matters, I will update the version and date on this page.
